CAGED
what is it?
caged is a book written by ad-vocation, a group of 6 rj year 6 students. it aims to advocate for the employment of recovered mentally ill patients by narrating the stories of various recovered patients whom we interviewed, and describes their journeys in finding employment. it's the product of many real-life stories, interviews, late-night meetings and our own imagination. and we hope that through this book, we can bring you on the same journey that we had for the past year and see our experience through our eyes. we guarantee that it will be an enriching and fulfilling one (:
the story:
Most of them never imagined it would strike them, but when it eventually did, it left them trapped deep within the bars of a cage filled with prejudice and intolerance. Caged is an inspiring story about three friends who embarked on a journey to unveil the life stories of these people who have been rejected by society time and again - and how they finally understood what it means to be caged; and more importantly, what it means to be free.
